Exercise 4
You see two different ways of naming interview transcripts. Compare them: What do you notice? Which variant would you prefer and why?

In version 1, the date was placed at the beginning of the file name, whereas in version 2, it was not. As a result, the files in version 1 are automatically sorted chronologically by date, starting with the oldest version in this case. If additional interviews and/or file versions are added, this could become confusing, as the most recent version of a file may end up somewhere in the middle of other files, requiring extra effort to locate it.
In version 2, there is no date in the file name, so all versions of a single interview are grouped together, with the most recent version appearing at the end.
To organize the files, archiving older versions or – depending on the folder structure – creating subfolders for individual interviews would be helpful.
Both file naming styles have advantages and disadvantages. Placing the date at the beginning makes it easy to see when a file was created or last modified, while version 2 simplifies finding the most up-to-date version.
